The Haberfield Association is currently involved in the following community projects, many associated with Haberfield's Centenary Year 1901-1902:

In 2001, competition entries close on 7 September.
Awards will be presented on 24 September.
- 14 October: Carnival of Cultures, Ashfield Park
- 3 November: "The Bunyas" Scouts Australia (NSW) Headquarters open. "The Bunyas" was built by Richard Stanton in 1907 as his home.
- 17 November: Haberfield Street Fair
- Feb - Mar 2002: Opening of Stanton Memorial Gardens
- Aircraft noise from Sydney Airport's northern flight paths
is a major concern to the Haberfield residents.
The Association is taking a great interest in ameliorating its effects.
- "Yasmar" is one of the few Victorian houses in Haberfield. It is owned by the Department of Youth and Community Services but it is disused and becoming more dilapidated. The Association is campaigning to have this valuable property properly restored and put to continuing use.
The Association's nomination that "Yasmar"
be Registered on the State Heritage Inventory
was accepted in August 1998.
- The Association is working to improve the quality of Hawthorne Canal which forms the boundary between Haberfield and Leichhardt.
